OUR STORY
A Spanish outdoor brand that started with a bird and a spreadsheet.
Where it started
The gap we kept running into
Buying outdoor clothing in Europe usually means choosing between two disappointments. At the top there is genuinely excellent kit at a price that assumes mountaineering is your career. Below it there is a large middle where the specs get vague, the fits get lazy, and the marketing does the work the product should be doing.
We kept ending up in that middle and kept being annoyed by it. Not because the gear failed outright, but because nobody would tell you what was actually in it, and because the brands that did tell you talked as though every day out was a summit push.
Raven Works started as an answer to both halves of that. Publish the numbers. Drop the straight face.
Spanish born
Designed in Spain, tested where the snow is unreliable
Spain is an unfashionable place to design cold-weather clothing and a very good one. Our mountain ranges give you the whole problem in a single season: hard freeze at altitude, wet warm afternoons, wind that arrives from nowhere, and snow that changes character between the lift and the col.
Kit designed for reliably dry cold gets away with things. Kit that has to work in a Spanish winter does not — which is why our range is synthetic throughout and why breathability is not a spec we treat as optional.
01
Why a raven
Corvids are the smartest problem-solvers in the animal world and they are not precious about it. They use tools, they remember faces, they cache food and come back for it months later, and they play — genuinely play, for no reason, sliding down snowbanks.
That combination is the whole brand: serious capability, no self-importance. The logo is a raven watching calmly, because the interesting thing about the bird is not that it is dramatic. It is that it is thinking.
02
And why every product is named after one
The naming is not decoration, it is a filter. Each product takes a real term from corvid anatomy or behaviour that maps onto its job: BROOD™ for the layer against the skin, COVERT™ and HACKLE™ for the warmth in the middle, PREEN™ for maintenance, TALON™ for the part that has to hold.
If a proposed piece cannot be placed in the bird — if we cannot say which layer it is and what it does that nothing else already does — then it does not get made. That is the actual reason the range is twenty-seven pieces and not two hundred.
03
Sharp by nature
The claim came last, after the bird and the naming and the range were already pointing the same way. Sharp as in intelligent, sharp as in edge, sharp as in the cold. By nature because it is not a positioning we adopted — it is the thing the raven already was.
Where we are
Snow first, then the other
Raven Works is built for four worlds — mountain and hiking, trail running, skiing and lifestyle. We are opening them one at a time, on purpose.
Snow came first because it is the hardest to get right. A ski range has to solve waterproofing, breathability, insulation, fit over other layers and hardware you can operate with gloves on, all at once. Anything that survives that is in good shape for a trail vest.
AW26 is the result: twenty-seven pieces, one layering system. The next verticals follow when this one is genuinely finished, and not before.
